General Class Information

Welcome to the Steindorf Maker Lab

with Mr. Schertle!

2019-2020

About the Maker Lab and Mr. Schertle

All middle school students at Steindorf will be in the Maker Lab for an average of 110 minutes a week.  Maker Lab is NOT an elective, but a part of every middle schooler’s schedule. The lab may be open other times during the week for students to work on projects independently.
The Maker Lab is a creative space staffed by Cambrian teacher Rick Schertle (schertler@cambriansd.com).   Rick has taught in Cambrian for 24 years, is a life-long maker, published author on many projects, and pioneer in the maker movement.  Rick has his credential in educational administration and is currently completing a Master’s degree. His position as K-8 Maker Lab Instructor and Coordinator merges his love for making and his love for teaching! More details about classes can be found on the Steindorf Maker Lab website at: www.cambriansd.org/makerlab
